Understandably, an establishment that has been in Poway
since 1972 has had to renovate and update through the
years. However, to say the Poway Fun Bowl has gone through
changes would be an understatement.
The Poway Fun Bowl has been busy changing its image and
identity. Call it a midlife crisis. From promotions to
remodeling, the bowling alley is changing across the board.
Near the west end of the house, frequent customers will
notice the snack bar has gotten bigger. More space offers
more opportunities, like now carrying new items such as
salads and juices. The food menu is set for some modification
in a health conscious way.
There's one guy they just can't seem to get out of Jimmy'z.
He doesn't really have a name yet, but the Poway Fun Bull
has arrived. The bar has added a mechanical bull to the
city in the country. It is open to anyone over the age
of 21.
The same old place has a new face. New Promotional Director
Ken Ritch is making an effort to work for the community.
With a background in hospital care, Ken brings a work
ethic geared towards helping others. New discounts for
religious groups and military along with new fundraising
options are the beginning to focus on the customer.
Despite concerns in the field, the Poway Fun Bowl chooses
not to believe leagues will ever die. With the busy schedules
that have become too common these days, multiple options
for league bowling are popping up. With new leagues focusing
on worship and military, the Poway Fun Bowl is working
on bringing already established groups out to the lanes.
Speaking of group leagues, work groups like HME and the
Post Office have picked a night to get away from the office
and do some bowling. The Poway Fun Bowl is always pushing
to get corporations interested in team building.
Changes in birthday party packages will give those kids
who love bowling what they want. An extra half hour means
more full games played. Hopefully they'll have the energy
to play in the arcade.
If change was needed to maintain a fun loving atmosphere,
the Poway Fun Bowl will change. It seems like a no brainer
if you're going to put fun in the name.
Company
Profile
Poway Fun Bowl established in 1992, by the owners Jimmie
and Jackie Anvar. They both had a vision to establish
an exciting business of bowling, purchasing the bowling
center, and renaming it from "Carriage Lanes"
to "Poway Fun Bowl". This began the re-invention
of what once was, and what would be the local entertainment
spot for the community.
Many renovations took place from top to bottom, which
made the grand opening a hit. This set the course for
"Poway Fun Bowl", as today "Poway Fun Bowl"
is a household name sitting in the heart of 5 cities.
Recently, "Poway Fun Bowl" has designed new
bowling packages, catering to many different groups; families,
schools, sports, churches, individuals, foundations, companies,
and corporations.
Since 2008 we have upgraded our center implementing tables
and swivel chairs, carpet, felts for our billiards, landscaping,
paint, and 32 Qubica monitors for fast and convenient
lane monitoring.
We look forward to booking your next event!
